How to Add/Remove Location Information to Your Photos for Mac
Most smartphones and pocket camera in nowadays are able to track the location information and add to the photo as part of file’s metadata, but sometimes people may not be able to get the location info for lacking of the GPS capability or copy the existing images from an old camera which does not have this feature. If you want to add the location information to your photo or want to delete it of the privacy protection, here’s how to add or remove the info on your phone for Mac.
Steps to add location information to the phone
- Double-click on the phone you need to add the location information, and then click on the info button (a small “i” in a circle) or press Command-I in the toolbar
- After that, you will see a new window which display many technical details of your selected image, to add the location information, you just need to go to the bottom of the window, and locate “Assign a Location”
- Click on this field, enter a location on the phone, and some suggested locations will be displayed and listed there
- Close the window when you finish to change the modification
If you would like to add the same location to a group of photos at a time, please select all of the photos, and then right-click on one of the selected photos, and then choose Get Info to add the specific location detail as the above steps. And you can also choose to change or add other details of the photo in the window.
Steps to delete location details from your phone
When you want to delete the location details to protect your personal privacy, sjust select the image in the Photos app browser, and click on Image — Location — Remove Location on the toolbar to delete the information.
